- Scott graduated from the University of New England’s Physical Therapy program in 1990
- Joined Granite Hill Physical Therapy upon graduation, specializing in Orthopaedic and Industrial Physical Therapy. At the time GHPT was one of the most progressive and fastest growing private practices in Maine.
- Provided treatment and Injury Prevention educational services in the Brunswick office as well as in their on-site offices at LL Bean, BIW, Unum, Blethen Maine Newspapers, Boise Cascade, International Paper and a clinic providing services to Maine state employees in Augusta.
- Trained under one of Maine’s first Certified Hand Therapist focusing on the treatment and prevention of arm related Repetitive Strain Injuries.
- Managed the continuing education of the Granite Hill Staff as well as the Clinical Instruction of physical therapy and athletic training students from the University of New England, Northeastern University, University of Kentucky, Ohio State University and Kenebec Valley Technical College
- Provided clinical and financial oversight to the entire Granite Hill System and subsequently to the Maine System of HEALTHSOUTH physical therapy centers
- Scott left HEALTHSOUTH in the summer of 2003 as the Area Manager for the state of Maine
- Started ADVANCED PHYSICAL THERAPY in the fall of 2003
- Scott treats a large number of spine and shoulder patients but has a special interest in chronic tendinopathies that have failed previous therapy attempts.
- His present treatment approach has offered success to many who thought that surgery was the only option left
Scott played high school and collegiate soccer, enjoys golf, tennis, table tennis, downhill skiing, and many shooting sports. He has a life long interest in the piano. Scott was fortunate enough to become the father of Matthew in 2006 and Carly in 2008. |

- Cara graduated from Simmons College with her BS in Health Science in 1992 and her MS in Physical Therapy in 1994.
- Joined The Physical Therapy Network, an orthopaedic and sports medicine practice in Bedford, New Hampshire upon graduation gaining experience in all areas of orthopaedics and sports medicine
- Relocated to Maine in 1998 and joined the rehabilitation team at HEALTHSOUTH inside Orthopaedic Associates in Portland Maine
- Provided physical therapy programs to spinal patients receiving cutting edge management of disc related pain by the Spine specialist at OA
- Provided treatment and clinical oversight to a large staff treating a wide variety of orthopaedic injuries pre and post operatively
- Cara left HEALTHSOUTH in the summer of 2004 as the Portland Facility Clinical Site Coordinator to join Scott at ADVANCED PHYSICAL THERAPY
- Cara became a partner in ADVANCED PHYSICAL THERAPY in the summer of 2008
- Cara continues to treat a large number of knee patients and has a special interest in the treatment of complex cases of Patellofemoral Syndrome and Arthrofibrosis that have failed previous therapy attempts.
Cara played high school soccer and rowed on the crew team in college. Cara is an avid reader and enjoys sailing, skiing, and hiking. Cara was fortunate enough to become the mother of Zoe in 2007. |

- Tim graduated from Northeastern University’s Physical Therapy program in 1991
- Provided outpatient and post-op care for orthopaedic patients in Florida and California after graduation.
- Moved back to Portland in 1994 and specialized in orthopaedic and industrial rehab. Tim has provided physical therapy care for employees of some of the biggest employers in the Greater Portland area including AAA, Maine Medical Center, City of Portland, Applicator Sales, Maine Turnpike Authority and NAPA Auto Parts.
- Joined ADVANCED PHYSICAL THERAPY in February, 2008
- Tim has a special interest in evaluation and treatment of shoulder injuries. He combines manual therapy techniques with postural and biomechanical corrective exercise.
- Tim resides in Scarborough with his wife Carla of 13 years and their two children Emily, age 11 and Chloe, age 9.
Tim enjoys golf, skiing, gardening and coaching his children in youth sports. He is an avid Red Sox fan and prefers not to treat Yankee fans in his practice. |
